Support Us
Lyon County CASA is driven by the belief that every child who is in the foster care system should have a court appointed volunteer advocate. This year alone, we have served more than 70 abused and neglected children countywide, but more children need our help.
Serving every child is possible. But we can’t do it alone.
There’s a lot a lot we can do with your support. Help us reach more children.
Your donations will help recruit and train additional CASA volunteers and assist in seeing the needs of these children are met. Any gift you are able to make will help to strengthen our service to these children. Your resources are so important to our CASA kids!

BECOME A
VOLUNTEER
What's it take?
You do not have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer. We welcome people from all walks of life. We are simply looking for individuals who care about children and have common sense. As a volunteer, you will be thoroughly trained and well supported by professional staff to help you through each case.
Steps to become a volunteer
Fill out Volunteer Application - You may print, fill out and send to address on bottom of page or fill out online.
- Pass a background check
- Participate in a 30 hour pre-service training course
- Agree to stay with a case until it is closed (a year and a half on average)
Becoming a CASA volunteer is an investment of time, energy and heart. But as many volunteers have said of the children they worked with: “It wasn’t about what I gave them, it was what they showed me.”
